Designing your Lead Magnet
Static lead magnets are both easy to ship and easy to ignore. A generic PDF or checklist might get you an email address, but it rarely creates momentum toward a real sales conversation. Dynamic magnets change that.
Research shows that static content lacks interactivity and personalization, which reduces its relevance and appeal to users over time.
Multiple recent marketing analyses and case studies confirm that dynamic lead magnets outperform static ones by providing tailored, immediate value that aligns with user needs and preferences, which helps businesses build stronger relationships and higher conversion rates.
We’ll be designing a lead magnet that behaves more like a lightweight product than a one-time asset. With the form on your site that would have captured details, it’ll become an intake form with AI automation converting that into a better asset.
The following example is an automation template we’ve used for fitness clients who wanted a dynamic offering on their website to potential customers. Instead of offering a generic fitness guide that could hit or could miss, the lead fills in their age, metrics, goals, and the automation turns it into a personalized starting guide.
This can be immediately transferred into other industries, and the value it gives is a great example of how AI can empower businesses.
What parts does a magnet have?
Lead magnets would usually contain the following things:
- Basic contact information - Name and email
- Segmentation questions - One or two targeted questions for better follow-up. There's a 3 field sweet spot, to maximize completion
- Contextual Fields - Age, location, job role, industry can help narrow down if the lead is a MQL or a SQL or something else.
- Clear Value Proposition - A short sentence or two near the form explaining what the user will receive and why it's valuable.
