From meeting invite to automation
Ever attended a trade-show or networking event and handed out a QR code to book a meeting? Or left a booking link on LinkedIn, and you saw that someone booked a meeting for next week?
In this module, we’ll go over creating a tool that would research people booking time on your calendar, allowing you to figure out who they are, the company that they work for, and give you a cheat-sheet to prepare for the meeting with.
When a new meeting with a prospective client lands on your Google Calendar, Make watches for that event and treats it as the starting signal for this workflow. The scenario pulls key details from the invite, the attendee’s name, email, company and meeting time, turning that into structured “lead context” for the rest of the flow.
From there, Perplexity acts as your research assistant. It searches the web in real time, summarizes what it finds about the person and their company, and returns a compact set of insights with sources.
This lets you replace 30 to 60 minutes of manual browsing per lead with a few seconds of backend automated research, while grounding your preparation in cited information. And because you are using AI, you can use alternative metrics that aren’t traditionally used on people. For example in this automation, we’ll run a SWOT analysis on a person.
Who this is for:
- Sales reps and account executives who want better-prepared first meetings
- Founders and consultants who handle their own pipeline
